Long description

The use and optimization of natural resources is one of the issues we are currently facing, since sustainable solutions for the future need to adapt to demands for growth, compensating carbon emissions and generating well-being in the face of social inequality. One of the key resources for the environmental future we face is wood. The Earth has lost more than half of its forests, impacting directly on carbon sequestration and oxygen production. Consumers’ awareness towards the use of sustainable products in relation to environmental protection is growing. This trend forces manufacturers to adhere to strict regulations, with certified sustainable sources for processed bamboo products. Coping with increasingly intense competition, manufacturers are focusing on structuring efficient supply chains that allow the delivery of sustainable products, goods and services on growing demand. This creates pressure on producers looking for ways to maintain the profitability, due to the situation of the depleted soil in many regions of the countryside, in cases driving them to deforest virgin territories for cultivation, as happened with the coffee crops and its decrease in profitability that is causing the expansion of agroforestry systems. Unfortunately there is a growing lack of interest in farmers, as the global market is demanding products with requirements difficult to obtain for small producers. We are linking the value chain of bamboo by focusing on a circular economy model, transforming it into laminated wood and creating a system for returning its material.
