Pet beds from from 100% natural fibers, shipped using zero waste packaging, and repaired/recycled at end of life to eliminate waste production.

Long description

We are making the world’s first circular economy pet bed. We implemented the principles of the circular economy at every phase from: 1) material selection, 2) distribution, 3) and end of life management. We make our beds using 100% natural fibers and included recycled content. This eliminates plastic from the beds, which is a common materials used currently. In addition, this makes it easy to repair or recycle the beds at end of life. These natural fibers also have no toxins found in beds made with synthetic and oil derived materials. We will use reusable bags to ship our beds to customers. This eliminates packaging waste, especially plastic. Also, since single stream recycling in the US has a contamination rate of about 20% nationwide and many Americans don’t even have access to residential recycling, our reusable bags prevent significant waste generation from using single use packaging. At end of life, we will allow customers to ship the beds back to us. Again, we use reusable packing. If the beds can be repaired, we fix and resell them. This allows us to maximize the life of the materials as long as possible. If they can’t be repaired, we recycle them. This way, we ensure all our beds are sustainably handled at end of life and aren’t landfilled. We have many other products in the development pipeline.
