Making shopping centers through Mexico city cleaner and greener.
Long description
With Clean Slate we plan to educate mall owners in Mexico city how valuable it can for their malls to implement better and more efficient recollection methods for their trash in their food courts. We also seek to illustrate customers, in these food courts, how to correctly sort their trash with more illustrative and visually appealing trash bins.
To entice mall owners to renovate their installations we plan on using a compactor to clear any dead space in the inorganic bin and UV lights to eliminate bad smells coming from the organic bins. This will help maintain clean spaces in their most critical area, the food courts, as this is essential to maintaining foot traffic and enticing customers to stay and buy, as IKEA has demonstrated. But we also seek to make a decorated trash bin with all of the elements that can be given out in the food court correctly positioned in their corresponding sections, in the vein of the cow parade in Mexico city.
Most importantly the correct separation of organic trash in malls will allow us to Recover what was wasted in this organic trough energy, heating or fertilizer production, and it will help reduce or carbon footprint as we will no longer need to transport more than 80 tons yearly, per average size mall, of organic trash to landfills in Mexico state.
