Hero Balancer is an innovative start-up who focusses on the sustainability of climate systems in the built environment. A building management system (BMS) is placed and connected to the heating, airconditioning, ventilation etc. of the building.

The BMS connects the settings of these systems to the cloud of Hero Balancer, the users of the building can change these settings based on their preferences in the online application. In the conventional situation these settings can only be changed by a professional who charges a lot of money for this service. Due to the high costs, the settings are rarely changed. This results in a unhealthy indoor environment and unnecessary energy usage. For example, more than half of the primary schools heat their building during Christmas. On top of this the optimal heat and ventilation demand of the building is calculated using artificial intelligence. This results in a better indoor environment and also a reduction of the energy used for the heating of the building.

By making the settings of the climate system accessible to the actual user of the building and calculating the optimal heat and ventilation demand using artificial intelligence, a reduction of the energy usage between 10 and 40 percent is accomplished. Because of this reduction the ROI (return of investment) is mostly lower than 2 years.

The digital application also works as a monitoring system for the indoor environmental quality, the energy usage and the performances of the climate system.
