Long description

A Composting Space is a combination of a composter and a small garden for urban areas. A composter that is the star of this show is already a market item, but unfortunately not very disseminated as it could be in urban areas. The idea is that people could have or use a composter to degrade their organic trash and apply the results of it, known as leachate, as an organic fertilizer on the plants/gardens/vegetable gardens nearby. This will help cities that don’t have clear recycling policies and often citizens don’t separate their trash effectively. As a result, the organic and recyclable trash get often mixed, prejudicing the recycling process. The composting space could be escalated to fit into a tiny place, such as a balcony of an apartment ( small composter and just a few plants) or even into a common space in a building or a condominium, where a group of people could decompose their organic trash together and even create a community vegetable garden. Finally, I believe that this initiative could influence people to rethink their food consumption habits since people will be much more in contact with the trash that they produce and will be more responsible for it. The Composting Space is not necessary a business idea, but possibly an educational program to teach citizens about the benefits of composters and cultivating food locally.
