Bioclimatic module for multiple uses, built with recycled and local materials recovering traditional techniques, through community participation.
Long description
Today we are experiencing several crises, the health crisis due to COVID-19, the environmental and housing crisis. In times of reflection, an initiative called: “Manos for Tuxpan” was born, “Tuxpan Verde” foundation.
We are a foundation that is dedicated to doing sustainable activities to build a sustainable culture in the city of Tuxpan, Veracruz. Operating since July 2020, we have carried out activities that create a positive impact on the environment, such as cleaning the beach, river, mangroves, and estuaries, reforestation, preservation, and care of endemic species, as well as bio-constructions with local and low-cost materials. Our project, “Construyendo Vida,” is a shared community center carried out in the community of Chacoaco in the municipality of Tuxpan, Veracruz (one of the most isolated and not privileged communities in the city due to its infrastructure and connection with the urban area) to provide them with a public space where people can obtain the right to education and affordable public space as well as access to the internet and communication technologies. It will be built with local materials such as bamboo and adobe, as well as the walls will be filled with ECO Bricks, made by recycled PET bottles and inorganic waste, collected from the water bodies collected during our activities to promote the culture of over-cycling in our society, such as also strengthen the relationship of human beings with nature and replicate it in many other communities. We work to build a green, sustainable and inclusive Tuxpan.
