COOPOST

Long description

Coopost is a community compost and gardening project in the city of Milan, with the main goal of reconnecting people with the living world. It consists of repurposing boulevards in key points of the city, allowing neighbours to build a space where to eat and share, compost, and grow their own food. The proposal is an open source system that allows creating different spaces ready to divide it in sectors for the different purposes: a sector for eating with tables; a sector for composting, full of compost bins where neighbours all around can go drop their food waste; a sector for gardening, planting and growing all kind of vegetables; finally a sector for making workshops where some local farmer, experienced user or passionate person can teach others how to work the ground. The main product is the coopbox, a simple easy to DIY modular box that allows systemic growing. It is thought to be useful for composting as much as for planting.
