Logo of the Project

Designing disassembly of built structures and turning the construction waste to a valuable resource.

Long description

The main focus of this project is on 2 main objectives:

  1. To reduce the Construction Waste going to the landfills.
  2. To create a system of designing buildings that are easy to dismantle.

The challenge is to dismantle the dilapidated buildings in such a manner that most of the building elements can be refurbished and reused. The process shall include designing the journey of every element that is dismantled in a building and segregating of the building elements as per the Rs applicable. In the process of designing and segregation, the team will be collaborating with various other experts / agencies such as:

  1. Architects: To design the treatment proposed for every element of the building.
  2. Structural Consultants: To design stepwise dismantling of the structural members.
  3. Quality Testing Laboratories: To test the structural stability of the recycled elements.
  4. Manufacturers: Damaged items such as broken windows, nonworking AC units, etc can be sent to the manufacturing unit. Further, its parts can be utilized as a raw material for a new unit or the items can be repaired and sold in a recycled market.
  5. Product Designers: Many of the elements in the building can be redesigned and reused for a different purpose.
  6. Contractor, Site Supervisor and Labors : Site execution team.
  7. Transportation companies: Goods to be transported to recycling plants, manufacturing units, markets, etc. will be carried by registered agencies to optimize the transportation.
  8. Warehouse Agencies: For storage of materials.
  9. Software experts: To manage the data base and track the system.
