It is through quality education that we are able to overcome barriers and develop actions for a better and more sustainable world.
Long description
The Project emerged within the school space, with students from low-income communities. The learning process was based on Paulo Freire’s educational policy. The students had the opportunity to get to know the theoretical foundation as well as to stimulate their creativity and skills through the reuse of electronic waste through meta-recycling. Brazil generates approximately 1.5 million tons of electronic waste, with only 3% of all this waste being recycled. The Project is linked to a continuous educational practice, serving 3 pillars: meta-recycling in schools as a creative activity; creation of a specific collector for electronic waste, stimulation of correct disposal; production of Atlantic Forest seedlings with reforestation in the conservation units of large urban centers.
