Re-making one man's trash into valuable treasures.
Long description
Plastic waste is a wide re-occuring issue that when unresolved, leads to health and environmental hazards. Developing countries do import alot. We aim at redesigning this trend by influencing behaviours i.e. instead of one-off discardation of plastic products after their life cycle, the users could dispose the materials to us in exchange of amazing products. We aim to offer these products to the community at competitive prices and raise the societies’ living standards by promoting entreprenuership within the confines of the circular economy.
They include:
1. Artificial grass mats- Used indoors or places insusceptible to water spray. They are colourfully green and when used would promote the psychology of promoting a green environment
2. Jewellery- Made from moulding and casting of materials from the accruing waste, reducing further exploitation of materials as well as unneccessary importation.
3. Building materials- Since massive waste is also produced through construction. waste lying in the environment such as plastic waste could be redesigned into wall tiles, switches, sockets, conduits and pipes. This would make a better environment for the user as well as the surrounding community.
4. Smart Bins (E-Bins)
Made from recycled waste material and composed of trackers and sensors that help in waste sortation. These will help in future scalling as well as acceleration of waste collection in rural as well as urban areas by creation of important big data on waste.
Our proposal seeks to implement the important circular economy by actualizing SDG goals in line with Kenya’s government agenda; Manufacturing.
