Transforming low income earning Malawian households from use of forest wood to use of charcoal briquettes.
Long description
The cost of electricity and gas is very high and are also not easily accessed by low income earning households in Malawi. Electricity despite being high is still not reliable due to frequent power cuts. Due to these, most of the population has resorted to using fire wood and wood charcoal for cooking. For this wood charcoal and firewood to be available, many trees are cut down resulting into deforestation.
The second problem is the increased rate of unemployment among the youth and women. For them to earn a living they resort to selling wood charcoal which again increases the rate of deforestation.
Our major goal is to reduce the rate at which forests are being depleted for the production of wood charcoal and firewood by offering Charcoal Briquettes with a mission to conserve our forests, cleaning environment of waste, saving lives especially of women in the kitchen and creating employment to the youth and women.
