Our team is focusing on reducing the noticeable wastes caused by the fast-food industry. To solve the food waste problem existing in Canada, we developed the local entrepreneurs’ fast-food packages. We tried to overcome the waste problem by encouraging them to finish the food. Before we head to the step, we did a large amount of research on Canada’s food waste conditions. And we found that the food waste problem existing in Canada is mainly caused by fast food. And we decided to land our final design direction on wastes created by fast food.
To reduce the waste created by the fast-food industry, we decided to locate our design focus on the packaging design. In other words, we will target redesigning the beverage, burger and fries packages to reducing wastes. We will develop the functionalities of the packaging for a longer containing duration, applying design thinkings to reduce food left and making the packing better disposed.
