The main objective of the “From Waste to Nourish” project is to transform organic waste into fertilizer, rich in nutrients, which will be donated, together with seedlings of food to the population’s home, thus making the environment cleaner, facilitating disposal of organic waste, and fostering a culture of domestic planting, in a sustainable way. Such actions aim to make the community’s food healthier, free from pesticides that pollute the environment and bring harm to human life. The process follows these steps: I – begins with the collection of organic waste – vegetable, fruit and vegetable remains, such as peels and decomposing food – from homes and local businesses. In this stage, an awareness work is carried out so that there is the separation of garbage and the subsequent donation. II – on partner lands or in boxes, food is deposited on land, which after 30 days, becomes fertilizer; III – after the land becomes compost, it is distributed in two ways: a) in bags for the community (homes, schools, churches, etc.); b) in rolls of toilet paper, in plastic bottles, glass, cans and packaging in general (donated by the community) with cultivated seedlings (of vegetables, fruits, plants and flowers). IV – a campaign is carried out on social networks, to distribute this material to anyone who is interested, to sensitize more people to adhere to the proposal. So, this is a project that brings sparkle in the eyes when sowing.
