Food for farm animals made from organic waste from restaurants in Mexico City.

Long description

The main objective of the project is focused on reduce food waste generated in restaurants in Mexico City. Our proposal consists of redirecting a linear economy into a circular economy; through a profitable service where organic raw material is transformed into a sack of food containing reused organic waste.

The restaurants in Mexico City that join will obtain a Go green certification that will demonstrate their environmental responsibility, paying a symbolic amount, which will help subsidize the cost to farmers and will receive a container in which they can dispose of their organic waste.

A truck will be responsible for transport. It will go through a disposal of the containers then carry them out to transformation center, where it will work with a social empowerment platform, employing the people from vulnerable groups. The transformation process consists of dehydration, nutrient measurement, grinding, mixing and packaging. The organic waste will be tranformed to food made of reused organic waste. These sacks will be taken to the farms of the area near Mexico City in the truck, later these animals can be sold to the restaurants certified by Go green closing the cycle.
