Kappla is an evolutive, flexible and sustainable "third place" designed for and with people.

Long description

“Third paces”, coworking spaces, sharing ressources, …etc, new activities tend to be oriented to community and social initiatives. New uses and way of working have been seen the last couple of years due to new kind of acitivities ans new typologies of works. These spaces are usually impemented inside old factories or unsed office space inside the city. But there aree still some unresolved issues: what are the sustainability limits of these spaces ? How to deal with the mutations and the evolution of the needs and the renew of the demands of people in the neighbourhood ?

From this observation, we create a project integrating a design process which can be adapted with many kind of places. Kappla is a multi-uses and flexible space made with mobile modules which can compose a space for an specific activity in a specific instant. The modules can be used for different activities and create diferent typologies of space (ex: a stage, a workshop space, a meeting space, etc). The mobile aspect of the project enhance the capacity to adapt the space to many activities and be more sustainable due to the easy possibility to change the module instead of destroying walls and create waste. The modules are made with the more reused materials as possible and are technically made to reused the materials to transform the modules in case of changement. This project integrate a social experiment with people by concerting them to the design process and analyse the needs.
