Mobilising Young India to take action and build sustainable communities.

Long description

WHY

LET’S TAKE ACTION is a year long in-school and home program, for students to take small, consistent and practical action towards sustainable development goals (SDGs). The aim of the program is to foster 21st century skills amongst students of ages 9 to 15. By applying pedagogical knowledge, students take action in their own schools and homes to build local solutions for global challenges related to SGDs. By instilling creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and empathy, the program develops next generation Young ambassadors of change.

Thus, our LET’S TAKE ACTION curriculum builds empathy in children, for them to engage as active participants in their communities.

HOW

During the year, students will work on real world projects related to the following themes. The sustainable projects will be conducted in students’ schools and/or homes. Students will utilise the LET’S TAKE ACTION tool kit to start taking action.

  • Food
  • Water
  • Garbage waste
  • Energy
  • Environment

School appoints one educator and five Student Ambassadors (13-15 years old) who would lead the program in their respective schools. Schools document the progress and the impact using the resources provided (Workbook and Web portal) and share it to the world.
