Lumberjunkers

Lumberjunkers is a project which allows students of all ages (from 3 years upwards) to learn the skills of urban woodworking and making. Producing educational toys and furniture whilst educating adults about the benefits of eliminating plastic. Lumberjunkers also allows participants to learn from the practical philosophy of the original recyclers the nomadic Romani woodcarvers and agricultural workers and tree planters, the people who ran a successful  circular and non hierarchial and eco friendly economy. Lumberjunkers aims to empower students to create healthier and happy and more prosperous communities. Many little hammers make big changes.

Starting as a way to provide alternative learning opportunities for neurodiverse and ‘so-called’ disruptive children on task Lumberjunkers has developed into a valued educational input for all children with many adults and educators having learned the skills and many more wanting to.
