Experience the potential of plastic waste by creating modular and sustainable products.
Long description
Every year about 8 million tons of plastic waste ends up in the sea. It takes hundreds of years to decay. This is extremely harmful to humans and animals. Which is a shame, since plastic is a sustainable material that can be used for products with a long lifespan instead of single use products. That’s why Lang Leve Plastic creates sustainable and modular products from plastic waste.
We collect local plastic waste such as plastic bottle caps and industrial ‘waste’. The collected waste is shredded to tiny chips and is melted to moldable plastic which gets pressed into beams. The beams are cut to size and holes are drilled systematic to create a modular system. Hereafter products can be assembled in countless ways.
Products never have to be thrown away anymore. Since our products can continuously transform and evolve along our ever-changing need of a product. We facilitate re-use and repair and promote creativity and personalization. Through our circular use of plastic, we clean up the environment and prevent new plastic waste from polluting land and sea while adding value to plastic waste.
In the media we often hear about the negative consequences of plastic. But plastic isn’t bad itself, it’s an amazing material if used properly. It is strong, flexible, accessible, cheap and can withstand all weather conditions. Above all, plastic is incredibly sustainable. Yet we still make disposable products from this wonderful material. To prevent more pollution, we advocate making sustainable products from a sustainable material.
