NANAH MEXICO

Long description

During the Aztec empire, natural resources symbolized life, and waste was considered valuable resources which they recovered, reused, recycled, and used productively. Also, they were experts on herbal medicine and natural personal hygiene. Proud of our roots, our origins, and our history, we created NANAH, the first plastic-free personal care brand, inspired by the zero-waste culture of ancient Mexico. Our name comes from Nanáhuatl, the Mexica god of humility.

Our solids are proudly handmade in Mexico, with locally sourced natural ingredients, that are vegan, non-toxic, biodegradable, and cruelty-free.

On June 5th, 2020, on World Environment Day, we launched NANAH, and since then, we have become one of the favorite zero-waste brands in Mexico.

NANAH’s online store has solid products ranging from shampoos, conditioners, and portable travel solids in aluminum containers such as shampoo tablets, dental tablets, solid sunscreen, aftersun tablets, and solid mosquito repellent. Once our clients have finished their solids, they can refill them through our website and reuse their aluminum containers.

Our project is inspired by, and supports the protection and conservation of the chinampas, a food security system invented by the Aztecs; a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and recognized by FAO as an Agricultural Heritage System of World Importance, and one of the greatest sustainable agriculture in the world. We firmly believe we are part of the Earth, and the answers to a sustainable future are in our past.
