The project replaces traditional kilns with the modern eco-friendly kilns, reducing wastage by 75% and increasing output of bio-fuels by about 150%.
Long description
We are enthusiasts when it comes to environmental conservation. Project involved replacement of wasteful traditional charcoal production design with an innovative, modern and eco-friendly EKKO 2 (https://youtu.be/CG3CX3HRCKs) kiln. This will reduce wastage because:
- Current system produces only 200kg of charcoal from 1000 kg of wood biomass used. The EKKO 2 design will produce 950kg from the same 1oookg of wood biomas, an increased output of 375%
- 1 ton of charcoal produced traditionally emits 4 tons of climate harmful emissions, leading to global warming. EKKO 2 reduces these harmful emissions by up to 99%, thereby saving our planet
- In these farming communities, shrubs from farm clearing, which are currently 100% wasted/burnt, will become useful as the new technology can use them as raw materials for charcoal and briquettes making.
- Traditional kilns uses ONLY the woods/logs part of a tree to make charcoal, leaving out the twigs, leaves and roots as waste, but the new EKKO 2 will utilize all parts of a plant, including seeds to make bio-fuels. The farmer makes additional income from briquettes.
- Traditional design takes a person 3 days to harvest the charcoal. The new design takes only 4 hours, saving labor wastage.
Increasing the charcoal output per ton will reduce wastage by a big margin, while conserving the environment. Our project will strive to install at least 1 EKKO 2 kiln in each community and hire/lease its services to the charcoal traders. This project brings both economic, social and environmental benefits in a big
