Smart recycling bins that automatically sort waste.
Long description
Climate change is a big topic in today’s world.
If different materials are not sorted from each other properly they can contaminate each other, making it expensive to clean & reuse. This is especially true for residual waste and is expensive for waste management companies, and they pass these costs on to businesses.
In 2018, 7.5M tons of rest waste landfilled and burned, polluting our air (via CO2 emissions), land, and water.
Furthermore, In the Netherlands organizations are charged an extra fee (€160 in Belgium and over €150 the Netherlands) for every ton of residual waste they give to their waste pick-up companies (e.g. SUEZ, GP Groot, etc.), and this cost is projected to increase.
More than 60% of waste that are thrown into the residual waste pile could have been recycled into one of the other recyclable waste streams (e.g. PMD, paper, or organic – in the Netherlands).
We’re revolutionizing this chain by creating smart recycling bins that automatically sorts waste.
Since its at the first point of contact with discarded waste, we’re able to directly improve recycling, get rid of human error, and since there’s less contamination, reduce costs, saving businesses money.
