Power from waste for desalination of sea water and food security.
Long description
The world flies through resources as if there is no tomorrow. Yet we are all painfully aware of the consequences our actions have on the merge resources we have left. This projects is aimed at setting a biogas digestor where we can take waste to create methane which can be turned into power. One of the by products of this project will urea rich fertilizer that could be used to fertilize crops grown by the people in nearby area to feed their families as well as generate an income. The excess methane can also be contained and sold of as gas to home and industries. Rather than the waste be thrown wherever to create sanitation problems, we could take human waste and well biodegradable waste and turn it into methane for power. We are also aware that there is a serious lack of drinking water through out the world and that desalinating takes a lot of power. so why not take biodegradable waste which is generated everyday by humans and animals and use the biogas digester at a coastal town to turn sea water into drinkable water for human consumption.
This project could be the catalyst to create smaller or even industrial units that are easily assembled. This would also form part of the “Green Jobs”.
