Long description
Water hyacinth has been a menace to the Lake Victoria region. It chokes the fish which reduces the economic scale for fisherman and it blocks navigation of boat riders. Waste paper when burnt emmits carbon in the atmosphere which ends up to climate change and global warming since it’s paper and was manufactured from a tree.
My project is a solution to this problem. Which involves the recycling of waste paper and using water hyacinth in making eco friendly cards, bookmarks, hairbands, trays, table coasters, chairs and bags. This promotes environmental sustainability, aquatic protection and creates youth employment. It also acts as an alternative to get paper instead of cutting down trees.
