RE.TRAMA is a brand centered in zero waste techniques to transform secondhand jeans into bijou, clothes and decorative items.
Long description
The textile waste is a big problem needing all sorts of adressment. In cities nearby me, there is a lot of small cloth making places, Brazil is also a country with a big cloth industry , and few iniciativities to make sure the waste have the correct destination. Other question that concerns me is that even with the increasing popularity of thrift stores, the consumerism of clothes bring the question of what will be made of them after use.
Thinking on this, RE.TRAMA is a brand who reporpose and upcycle jeans pants into accessories as earrings. Since I work with the same material, I will be able to make a reverse logistic to keep my design and creating circular. Zero Waste also a central question in the brand, that’s why, every scrap is kept in order to create new products with it.
I work with several models of earrings, wrislets and rings, but I intend also produce clothes and frames, from a thread made from the same old jeans. The idea is to recreate products with every peace and construct a comunite of people who engages in upcycling things. In this way we can impact the planet, and the way we view resources that surround us.
I started RE.TRAMA Instagram account to show my work and the possibilities I explore with the material.
