RECÍCLATELO is positioned in Mexico to promote a solidarity and inclusive waste management model that recognizes and rewards responsible citizen actions, thus achieving a transition towards responsible and informed consumption.

The intervention is carried out through the RECÍCLATELO APP, a free APP that, using BIYUYOS (virtual coin of the Program), rewards citizens for registering, separating and correctly delivering materials with recycling potential to the city’s urban waste pickers and collection centers.

To achieve an inclusive and traceable recovery model “RECÍCLATELO” follows the steps below: (a) at the end of the useful life of packaging and/or containers, consumers register the product in the APP by scanning the barcode; b) Users receive BIYUYOS in exchange for each registration; c) consumers must deliver the material to a recycler or take it to one of the collection centers affiliated to the program in order to use the BIYUYOS; d) the recycler or collection center makes a validation process, receives the material and takes it to the collection center (in the case of recyclers) or to a transformation center (in the case of collection centers); e) the user exchanges his/her BIYUYOS for discount coupons to consume products that promote local consumption and have a cause.
