Based on the problems caused by fast fashion consumption, the project combines the renovation of old clothes with the public water dispenser.

Long description

The development of McFashion has changed people’s consumption patterns and attitudes towards clothing. Even ordinary young girls can afford to wear clothes with the most fashionable design. However, behind it, there is price of environmental degradation.

The fashion industry is already the second highest-pollution industry after the petroleum industry. In the process of cotton plantation, production and transportation, and finally being sold to consumers, a piece of clothing has already produced irreversible pollution. However, with the development of McFashion, consumers keep buying new clothes and discarding the “old clothes” that have only been worn twice. In addition, in order to seize the market, manufacturers keep overproducing, resulting in that the out-of-season clothes in inventory end up in landfill and burning. After being thrown away, the clothes no long occupy the space of wardrobe, but they caused long-term pollution to the environment. So in order to encourage the reuse of old clothes, I designed an app, which is combined into the public drinking machine to promote the concept of environmental protection, that is “rethinking whether we need the next new clothes,  or reduce the purchase of new clothes, but transform old clothes, and give them a second life.”
