SE-A-CRAB is a restaurant found on Providencia Island, Colombia that promotes a more mindful and sustainable consumption of the Black Crab, an endemic species of the island, by redesigning the traditional tourism of the area. Unsustainable human practices have led this species to be in danger of extinction affecting negatively the economics, ecology, and culture of the island. Therefore, SE-A-CRAB proposes and organizes unique experiences based upon the migration of the crab that happens once a year, learning the different ways on how to cook it traditionally yet sustainably, and finally, an involvement getting to know the animal’s habitat and learning how to protect it.
