Circular home textiles - Responsibly and ethically produced.
Long description
STADSLINNEN is a circular home textile collection, responsibly manufactured and honestly produced by a local social workshop. STADSLINNEN is turning textile waste into new raw materials because we feel the urge to contribute to a waste-free planet and a better place to live by reducing our carbon footprint. Our launching collection consists of everyday textiles that connect people, such as tea towels, lunch bags, table- and picnic cloths as well as napkins. STADSLINNEN is distinguished by the use of local textile waste, specifically old and discarded table- and bed linen collected from both the hospitality sector and local residents. By focusing on a sustainable and responsible production process, we are able to save huge amounts of water and energy, and reduce CO2 emissions. We avoid the use of chemicals by dying the textiles with natural resources like waste from vegetables, flowers and plants. STADSLINNEN is working together with a local social workshop and gives ‘newcomers’ and people with a disadvantage to the labor market a fair chance. As an impact-driven startup, we are determined to create impact for people and the environment. By focusing on closing the loop of the textile supply chain, we will help mature the textile recycling process and share lessons learned for scaling up, leading to growing awareness for everyone involved about the impact of textiles, the circular economy, and a zero waste lifestyle.
