The Area Register

*The project considers a collaboration between Madaster and Cirkelstad. The application for the €10.000 will be used to further develop the front-end of the platform that will be operational July 1.*

The Area Register is an innovative digital proposition that provides transparency and insight in materials/products/objects applied in the built environment. The proposition includes a search functionality on object level (construction objects, products and materials), area level (where are what objects) and time level (when can material flows be expected).

The Area Register facilitates data owners to safely connect their data to the area register, which makes the Area Register a ‘linked data’ solution where data owners can manage the availability and accessibility of their data on a detailed level.   The Area Register is currently delivered with 2 data sources, Madaster and a data source including parking meter information of a municipality. Access to the Area Register is available through a technical data engine, powered by Dexes. To stimulate usage, a user-oriented interface is required to easily search, as well as easily connect data sources.

Madaster is an international register for products and materials and currently includes over 8 million m2 of real estate, >2000 buildings and construction objects and 10 million products / materials. Cirkelstad in a national cooperation supporting Dutch communities of private and public organizations to make the transition to a circular economy.
