Pine Kazi is a new and innovative social business venture that sustainably converts previously discarded pineapple waste into eco-friendly fashion products like shoes and bags while working with unemployed disconnected youths across our value chain. Pine Kazi was created after its co-founders learnt that the global pineapple industry produces 766M tonnes of post harvest waste which is either burned or decomposed releasing 1.8 million metric tonnes of carbon(IV)oxide. Globally this is a huge deal as carbon(IV)oxide represents 18% of the total green house gases representing 20 billion US dollars of lost economic activity per year.
