UpCycled Handcrafted Products made out of waste plastic bags
Long description
EcoKaari – Humanising fashion, UPCYCLES waste plastic bags, and wrappers using a unique process of Handloom weaving. This is done using a traditional Charkha and Handloom, to make handcrafted utility items such as handbags, office and home decor products. All our work is done in order to provide livelihood opportunities to YOUTH and WOMEN from humble backgrounds. Social Issues: ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION: We are working towards reducing non-biodegradable plastic waste from damaging the environment and its life forms. LIVELIHOOD GENERATION: Our process is such that everything is crafted manually, thus generating employment for our youth and women whom we have hired and trained for this work. HERITAGE CONSERVATION: As we use traditional equipment such as the Charkha and Handloom, we are trying to revive our heritage, which is on the verge of extinction. AWARENESS GENERATION: We create awareness sessions at exhibitions, schools, colleges, corporate, civic clubs, and the like, to help them understand the ill effects of using disposable plastic so that the use is reduced in the first place. In addition, we explain how recycling/upcycling initiatives such as ours could be supported by them.
