Using trash as dye

Long description

Nowadays, trash has a negative narrative; to most, waste is seen as useless.
Using waste as ink, we are bringing an alternative to the toxic synthetic dyes used by the fast fashion industry. We are currently researching different bacteria that live on waste streams and that we can turn into ink.
We are also Recycling unsellable bedsheets to make t-shirts out of them. We will dye these T-shirts with the dye made out of trash.
Our main goal is to change the negative narrative around trash by creating high quality, eco-friendly colourful T-shirts. We are looking at different ways to upscale this project so that using trash as the dye can influence the fast fashion industry and be the standard one day.

We are 3 digital design students who have a special interest in biodesign.
