Flying ray is a multifunctional children's furniture, made from recycled plastic, resignifying the essence of our relationship with the material.
Long description
According to data from the World Wide Fund for Nature – WWF, about 8 million tons of plastics are discarded in the oceans per year. If the consumption continues this way, until 2050 there will be more plastics ‘populating’ the water than fish. Without urgent changes, especially in the way plastic is produced, consumed and eliminated, pollution should double by 2030. Because of this, it is important to rethink the relationship of human beings with this material. The best way out is to innovate. Why don’t we leave the oil underground and work with the existing polymers in the system?
The “Flying Ray” project introduces early environmental awareness and new ethics along with new aesthetics, as well sustainability and circular economy in children’s daily lives, so that we may teach the new generation about the consumption and value of plastic. Furniture made from various types of plastic taken from the ocean, presenting an unique texture, fully exhibiting its identity. In the circular economy, the performance of a company does not end after the sale of its product to the consumer.
