Reassignment and positive impact through fashion and recovery of discarded materials.

Long description

The use of plastic bags in order to help transport our purchases went from a simple act to an action that corroborates the destruction of the environment. On average, it has only 12 minutes of useful life, which, compared to their 400 years of decomposition, becomes an overwhelming issue. According to data disclosed by the Ministry of the Environment, on Brazilian soil, there are about 1.5 million bags distributed per hour. 13 billion 140 million bags in the year.

From this, the VAIQ (Will you want a bag?) is a project of bags, accessories, and clothing that thinks about the reflection, transformation, and regeneration of our way of disposal and consumption. It rescues and reconnects the discarded plastic bags from its users. It believes in the project as a cycle in which it has a strong commitment from suppliers to its final consumer.

VAIQ proposes to establish agreements with garbage cooperatives, whose main function is to separate the plastics and supply this raw material for making the products. Based on this partnership, the project removes plastics from the wrong destination; reconnects an item to its consumers with added value, regenerate, minimizes the impacts of this discarded material on our environment.

VAIQ tells a story, not only about who is inside the production but who discarded the bag. That said, VAIQ aims to be an information channel and a support network for all those who seek to know more about the issues of proper disposal and sustainable ways of consumption.
