VYTAL offers a digital reusable packaging-as-a-service system for take-away, delivery and convenience food to eliminate single-use packaging waste. We aim to provide the operating system to make reusable as easy and convenient as single-use packaging, only better (i.e., no waste, higher quality packaging, impact tracking). Through our digital platform (incl. incentives, gamification, analytics etc.) we can maximise the ecological and economic value generated in the system by optimising utilisation of our high-quality packaging (100% leak-proof, BPA-free, micro-wave and dishwasher-safe). For consumers, the system works like other sharing services via an App where they register with their payment details to get a personal QR code. With that they can go to any of the partners and borrow our reusables through a simple scan of the QR code on the bowl and in the app. The service is free of charge for the consumer if the packaging is returned to any partner for cleaning and next use within 14 days (to avoid hoarding). Our partners pay a fee per transaction – no investment needed. They gain through reduced packaging costs & waste volumes, higher customer loyalty and extra revenues from an eco-conscious consumers. Currently, our Bowl-Sharing model is used in more than 700 restaurants in Germany, we are working with 5 of the 10 largest canteen operators across Germany and we are currently expanding into other countries, like the Netherlands. We are also preparing pilots with large retailers to allow consumers to use our system at the salad bars and fresh counter.
