Waste issue is a major issue in the world and needs serious attention. Waste is causing a lot of harmful effects to the environment. Plastic wastes are disposed irresponsibly, education of waste management is minimized causing serious health and environmental hazards and challenges. This project has been designed to sensitize the general public on the new techniques of turning plastic waste into resources. And also train youth on turning these plastics into ecobags ( School bags, laptop bags, market bags etc.) This project will create awareness of the effect of sanitation and proper waste management issues through radio programs and clean up exercise in our communities. Create employment opportunities through the training, payment for collection of plastics waste, stitching of the plastics waste and sales of recycled products. This project aims to recycle plastics into resources and give livelihood empowerment skills to the youth and women who are mostly disadvantaged in our society.

Implementation activities

1. Organize 10 radio advocacy on sanitation and proper waste management techniques in the Northern part of Ghana, Upper west region, Wa.
2. Develop a waste collection android application that the public can use to reach out to Eco-Clean to pick up waste for recycling.
3. Train 20 women and youth in turning plastics waste into eco-products (School bags, laptop bags, mobile phone packs and market bags)
4. Organize 4 clean-up
