Wasteless Charger

Our product will use modern technology to save one of the world’s most important resources, energy. The world only has a finite amount of coal and natural gas. The more energy we waste, the more carbon and methane we emit into the environment. This leaves future generations with increased risk of air pollution, rapid heat waves, drought, and many other unfortunate side effects. The average phone only takes one to two hours to charge. Therefore, letting it charge throughout the night is inefficient and unsustainable. For that reason, we have designed a wireless charging mat that can fit a smartphone, one tablet, and one smartwatch, and one wireless earpod case (our prototype displays the four coils, though one is not in use). These devices must be able to wirelessly charge, otherwise the mat will not work. Once placed on the mat, we will have an app where consumers can set priorities and decide in which order they would like to charge their products. That way, multiple devices can be charged; therefore, wasting less energy every night. The charging mat will automatically power off after all of the devices have fully charged. By purchasing our product, customers will not only be able to charge many of their devices, but will be making a positive impact on our planet’s future.
