Three 20-min videos on how to consciously design small scale integrated solutions that reclaims nutrients, energy and water from wastewater.

Long description

Fluxus Ecological Design and its co-founder, civil engineer and permaculture designer Guilherme Castagna have been developing ecological systems for productive wastewater cleaning systems from an integrated water management perspective since 2005 in Brazil. In 2009 Guilherme had the chance for the first time to present it during the Klimaforum meeting in Kopenhagen, an alternative climate forum organized by Civil Society parallel to COP 15. To spread the knowledge and offer creative inspiration for small scale systems, Guilherme and acclaimed Brazilian film director Caio Ferraz have teamed up in 2017 to create a 45 min video class entitled “Wastewater as a resource”, where principles of ecological sanitation are discussed along with hands-on DIY techniques that are able to transform the so-called “wastewater” into a potent dynamic element of social and environmental regeneration. This video, initially offered in Portuguese, has reached nearly 250.000 views, and have shown the enormous demand for simple, inspirational and educative videos that can illustrate, step-by-step, how to implement a range of solutions aimed at the small to medium scale systems, encompassing urban and rural areas, including small farming applications for fish production, biomass, biogas, and stock feed in a series of 3 short 20-min videos. The videos will be made accessible through Youtube and other social media web sites for free in English, with subtitles in other languages. These educative videos/films offer an innovative view and approach about new ways to positively act towards social-ecological-economic change of one of the biggest waste streams around the world.
