Libe Green Innovation is dedicated to the development of sustainable solution to plastic pollution that hit Tanzania the hardest and empowerment of disadvantaged group’s especially rural and tribal families, through grassroots action, research, and education. We see the status of the local natural environment as key in the development process. Since poor and marginalized people lack the resources needed to reduce the negative effects of a degraded environment, a damaged natural environment will hit the most vulnerable groups of society the hardest. At the same time, people living with scarce resources are usually directly dependent on their close natural environment for their daily survival.   Every day more than 4000 waste pickers protect our planet by collecting and recycling, yet most live-in extreme poverty and work under inhuman conditions. For the past 2 years, we have explored ways of contributing a change by developing their capabilities and by designing a new business model that includes local and international recycling companies, local authorities and NGOs in order to maximize our social and environmental impact. This proposal will allow you to understand our collection model and the impact of our existing project. We are counting on you to work hand in hand with Libe green innovation  and transforming waste pickers knowledge into valuable practices that will drive us towards a more inclusive and circular economy.
